We are a medical charity with a twist: our focus is to empower local healthcare workers to work in the most under-served parts of the world.  This means a proper facility to work in, supplies and equipment, and access to the education and training needed to best serve these communities.  It also means inspiring young people from rural regions to become healthcare providers.

In 2019, we started our Yonkofa Lecture Series for Healthcare Providers.  Dr. Lara Hart and Dr. Kent Herbert have been able to provide education and training in a number of topics related to obstetrics, gynecology, urgent care, emergency medicine and internal medicine.  These have been 2 -3 day sessions, rotating through groups of about 30 nurses, nurse midwives, and physician’s assistants. Attendees have been sent back into the field with additional medical tools, and reference materials to keep in the clinic.  We have been able to include three different hospital districts, so far, and hope to expand.
